## Investigator Intern (Undergrad) - Spring Internship ### Overview Investigator interns work closely with staff attorneys and their clients to assist in the legal process. They gather records and other documents, interview witnesses, write reports, and deliver subpoenas. In addition, they help clients with substance abuse and mental health issues, and assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials. This position is unpaid, however job-related mileage expenses are reimbursed. ### Responsibilities * Interview witnesses and write reports * Take photographs and diagram crime scenes * Deliver subpoenas to witnesses * Gather records and other documents essential to the defense * Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials * Help clients obtain treatment for substance abuse or mental health issues ### Qualifications * * Must be a licensed driver and have an insured vehicle * Must obtain a private investigator’s license through the New Hampshire Department of Safety ### Compensation * Unpaid * Job-related mileage expenses are reimbursed * NHPD will assist in obtaining a private investigator’s license and reimburse the associated fee
