Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their dynamic litigation teams, specializing in product liability, personal injury, mass tort, and medical malpractice cases. The candidate will play a crucial role in handling large, complex, and multi-jurisdictional contentious cases, collaborating with international counterparts, and contributing to the firm's business development.

Duties:

  • Work with litigation teams on large, complex, and fast-paced contentious cases, including multi-jurisdictional cases.
  • Serve as the primary or junior associate on large mass tort and class action cases in the US.
  • Take the lead on smaller individual cases with guidance from senior associates and partners.
  • Collaborate with UK and Brazilian counterparts to build and litigate multijurisdictional lawsuits.
  • Assist the firm in achieving its professional objectives.
  • Contribute to business development by participating in marketing activities and developing referral and co-counsel relationships.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a litigation attorney in product liability, personal injury, mass tort, or medical malpractice.
  • Superior academic background, including academic transcript for those 2 or fewer years out of law school.
  • Strong technical skills in US civil litigation, preferably in product liability, mass torts, class actions, and personal injury claims.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand client’s needs and adopt the best-case strategy.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy for consistently high-standard work.
  • Very strong organizational skills, file management, and time/record keeping.
  • Confident communicator is able to work calmly under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through collaborative work with external and internal parties.
  • Demonstrably flexible approach to work to meet client deadlines efficiently.
  • Willingness and eagerness to travel both domestically and abroad.
  • Empathy and passion for clients are represented.
  • Experience in pro-bono or social justice/human rights work.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Pennsylvania.

Skills:

  • Proficient in US civil litigation procedures.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
