OpenGov is looking for an experienced Associate Commercial Counsel to join our growing legal team. As an Associate Commercial Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal support to our sales and customer success teams, negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial agreements, and advising on legal and regulatory issues related to our software and services. This is a full-time, hybrid position located in either Chicago, IL, San Francisco, CA, or Tampa, FL.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to sales and customer success teams by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, professional services agreements, and non-disclosure agreements
- Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to the company's software and services, including data privacy and security, intellectual property, and compliance with government contracts and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer success, product, and finance, to provide legal guidance and support for new and existing business initiatives
- Conduct legal research and provide guidance on best practices and industry standards
- Assist with developing and implementing legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company and its operations
- Manage and maintain relationships with external legal counsel as needed

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one state
- 3+ years of experience as a commercial or transactional attorney, preferably in a technology company or law firm with a focus on software and services
- Strong understanding of data privacy and security laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA
- Experience negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, professional services agreements, and non-disclosure agreements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong business acumen and ability to provide practical and strategic legal advice
- Passion for technology and desire to work in a fast-growing, innovative company

Salary Information:
- The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000, depending on experience and location.
