Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs related to securities litigation cases.
  • Conduct discovery, drafting, document review/analysis, and ESI (Electronically Stored Information).
  • Assist in witness preparation and examination.
  • Ensure compliance with civil rules of procedure and rules of evidence.
  • Potentially serve as "second-chair" at hearings/trials, if experienced.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial litigation, specifically securities litigation, at a law firm.
  • Familiarity with civil rules of procedure and rules of evidence.
  • Federal court experience and/or “second-chair” experience at hearings/trials preferred.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Record of strong academic performance.
  • Licensed to practice law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • State Bar admission in Illinois (required).
  • Any relevant certifications in securities law or litigation (preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills, particularly in securities litigation.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in conducting discovery and document review/analysis.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
