Company is looking for an experienced Senior Counsel - Biotech Patent Law to join its legal team. This role will require an attorney with a . degree or . degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in a . jurisdiction, as well as four (4) years of experience practicing intellectual property law. An ideal candidate will have ten (10) or more years of experience practicing patent or intellectual property law, including pre-JD experience as a patent agent. This position will require a Registered Patent Attorney and an advanced degree such as a master’s degree or . in molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, or structural biology. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have excellent analytic, legal drafting and oral and written communication skills, and strong management and leadership skills, client service focus, and ability to work independently and in teams. The Senior Counsel - Biotech Patent Law will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing a global intellectual property strategy for protecting Company’s therapeutic products and product candidates, including formulations, process development, and manufacturing methods relating to Company’s pipeline and in-line products. This role will involve working closely with scientists to identify patentable inventions, drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications worldwide, conducting prior art searches, analyzing patents and preparing freedom-to-operate opinions, conducting due diligence in support of licensing activities, drafting and negotiating research agreements, analyzing trademark and copyright issues, providing legal advice and counsel to R&D and Business partners on a wide range of IP related matters, and assisting with litigation-related matters and challenging/defending patents in PTAB, opposition, and other forums. This role will ideally be based in proximity to Company's research site in South San Francisco, California, corporate headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California or Cambridge MA and allow for a hybrid work model as well are remote work arrangement provided the ability to work client group hours when needed. The salary range for this position is $247, USD - $299, USD.
