EY's Business Tax Advisory (BTA) – Federal Tax Advisory (FTA) practice provides innovative solutions to some of the world's largest organizations, middle market and private companies. The opportunity

As an FTA Manager, you will work on challenging tax issues and collaborate with our team to identify cash tax savings and refund opportunities for our clients. This includes areas such as FDII, BEAT, GILTI planning, R&D credits, accounting methods, capitalization and cost recovery, transaction costs, inventory, and more. You will have the chance to work with nationally recognized professionals and be a trusted business advisor to our clients. Additionally, you will be part of a rapidly growing team that supports EY's comprehensive business tax advisory strategy. Your key responsibilities

As an FTA Manager, you will work with clients in various industries and sectors. You will directly interact with clients, analyze their data and information, and prepare necessary analyses. You will also support and actively participate in the analysis of large datasets, collaborate with subject matter professionals, and provide guidance to associates. Additionally, you will play an important role in delivering client engagements, working closely with managers and partners to serve our clients and foster a strong OneEY culture.

To qualify for the role, you must have

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management information systems, or related field, and approximately six years of related work experience OR a graduate degree in tax, law or management information systems, and approximately five years of related work experience
- Valid US Enrolled Agent, CPA or licensed attorney designation
- Experience with tax research and analysis
- Proficient in analyzing large datasets
- Ability to learn complex tax and industry concepts and apply them to specific client scenarios
- Good managerial, organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and supervise teams
- Strong business and tax technical writing skills
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access, and data mining tools
- Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment

Ideally, you'll also have

- Familiarity and/or experience with IRS tax controversy and statistical sampling
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as MS Power BI, MS Power Pivot, MS Power Query, and Alteryx
- Big 4 comparable experience
- Certifications in Alteryx or Microsoft products (MSCA)
- Advanced degree, such as MST, MSA, JD, or LLM
