A law firm is seeking a Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join their team in Chicago, Illinois. The Personal Injury Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of personal injury claims. They will collaborate closely with other attorneys to develop case strategies, conduct legal research, and lead case management teams in effectively representing clients. This role entails overseeing all phases of personal injury cases from intake through trial or settlement, conducting thorough case investigations, drafting and filing legal documents, negotiating settlements, representing clients in court proceedings, and providing exceptional client service.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury claims
  • Develop case strategies in collaboration with other attorneys
  • Conduct legal research
  • Lead case management teams
  • Oversee pre-litigation, litigation, trial preparation, and trial
  • Conduct thorough case investigations to determine liability and damages
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel
  • Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings
  • Provide exceptional client service, keeping clients informed about case progress

 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of personal injury experience as a Plaintiff's attorney
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required
  • Lawyer in Good Standing to practice law in the state of Illinois
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of state laws, regulations, and legal procedures pertaining to personal injury cases
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in conducting legal research, preparing legal briefs, and providing sound legal advice to clients

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to the State Bar

 

Skills:

  • Ability to effectively interpret and apply legal precedents, statutes, and regulations
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
