A law firm based in New York City is seeking a Mid-Level Class Action Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm. The ideal candidate should possess superior writing, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate and take ownership of a multi-matter docket. Experience in class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation is highly preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis pertaining to class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation matters.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Participate in case strategy development and implementation.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence promptly and efficiently.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and high-quality work product.
  • Meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships within the firm and with external parties.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, including prolonged computer work, digital/virtual conference calls, and meetings as needed.
  • Perform any other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of New York.
  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Experience with class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation is highly preferred.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Previous federal clerkship is a plus.
  • Superior writing skills.
