# Tax Principal - Manufacturing & Distribution

CLA is seeking a Tax Principal to join our New England markets Manufacturing and Distribution tax practice. The role offers an opportunity to lead a team of tax and industry professionals to deliver tax compliance and consulting services, while also developing new business and expanding services to existing clients.

## Job Responsibilities

The Principal contributes at the highest level in their industry and excels at:

* Client advisory
* Service advocacy
* Relationship development
* Leadership

The Principal will be responsible for:

* Assigning work and mentoring the team to get to know and help their clients by developing a deep understanding of their businesses and delivering the firm’s services
* Assuming full responsibility for all services for clients in a book of business
* Reviewing and signing engagement letters, discussing the nature and terms of assignments with clients and staff, and approving fees
* Reviewing and approving work papers and tax returns prepared by staff
* Reviewing and signing client deliverables
* Keeping current on tax law changes
* Actively developing new business and expanding services to existing clients
* Demonstrating commitment to the firm through a willingness to devote time to the practice

## Qualifications

To qualify for this role, applicants must have:

* Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Taxation or related field
* Current CPA licensure (JD may be accepted in lieu of CPA)
* 10+ years of public accounting experience in a tax role with a public accounting and/or professional services firm
* Demonstrated experience managing business tax engagements with a deep understanding of partnership, S corporation and C corporation concepts
* Experience providing complex tax planning strategies to high-net-worth clients
* Excellent communication and client service skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to travel to client sites
