Amazon is looking for an experienced and talented Corporate Counsel to join its rapidly growing and evolving Alexa voice service team. The corporate counsel will be responsible for counseling the Alexa business on a broad range of commercial, licensing, technology, and regulatory matters and structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions.

**Job Responsibilities**

- Provide ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, including intellectual property, digital media, privacy, and regulatory compliance
- Structure, draft and negotiate complicated technology, distribution, licensing, marketing and other commercial agreements
- Serve as lead counsel on strategic issues and deals
- Provide day-to-day input on business and strategy
- Advise on the launch of new products and features
- Resolve issues that arise in commercial relationships
- Handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries
- Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways
- Build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly

**Basic Qualifications**

- . degree and membership in one state bar
- 5+ years of legal experience

**Preferred Qualifications**

- A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience
- Prior product counseling, privacy, and/or transactional experience

The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
