A law firm located in San Francisco is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of substantial transactional experience at a major law firm. The ideal candidate will have experience representing sponsors, developers, borrowers, lenders, or investors in secured lending, tax equity, LLC financings, and joint ventures. Preferred experience includes clean energy and climate infrastructure finance, but adjacent project financing experience will suffice for candidates interested in developing expertise in financing clean energy projects and portfolios. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers, assume a high level of responsibility and client contact, and gain a wide range of project finance and development experience.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in renewable energy project finance transactions, including secured lending, tax equity, LLC financings, joint ventures, and structured asset-based finance.
  • Work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers to provide active mentoring and be part of a collaborative team focused on clean energy and climate solutions sectors.
  • Assume a high level of responsibility and client contact with companies ranging from start-ups to leading international infrastructure investors.
  • Draft and negotiate legal documents, including loan agreements, financing documents, and joint venture agreements.
  • Gain experience working with industry-leading and innovative companies in the renewable energy sector.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of substantial transactional experience at a major law firm.
  • Experience in project finance and/or structured asset-based finance and non-recourse lending transactions.
  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Membership in the California Bar or eligibility to become a member.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Membership in the California Bar or eligibility to become a member.

 

Skills:

  • Experience representing sponsors, developers, borrowers, lenders, or investors in project finance transactions.
