Position Summary:

- Seeking a leader with a passion for financial products and tax planning to work with hedge fund clients and their affiliates.
- Responsibilities include identifying complex tax issues, Subchapter K structures, and aggregate allocations.
- Must have a solid understanding of trader vs. investor determination and federal, international, and state investor reporting.
- Detail-level review of tax workpapers and returns, research on transactional and tax planning opportunities, and communication with clients.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising staff and attending required Deloitte Tax LLP and sector-specific training.

The Team:

- Global leaders in providing professional services to the Investment Management industry.
- Comprised of over 1,400 partners, principals, and employees.
- Provides tax services to a broad range of Investment Management companies, including hedge funds, private equity, and mutual funds.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work within a hybrid work model (in-person 2-3 days per week).
- 3+ years of experience in tax planning or preparing/reviewing tax workpapers and returns.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Accreditation: CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, or certifications such as CFA or CFP.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred:

- Advanced degree (Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM).
- Previous Big 4 experience.
- Understanding of Subchapter K, financial products, and wash sale and constructive sale rules.
- Experience in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
