Sr. Counsel, Legal, U.S. Networks

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Sr. Counsel to join their Legal team in the . Networks division. This full-time position is available in two locations: Silver Spring, Maryland and New York, New York. As a global media company, Warner Bros. Responsibilities:

- Independently handle the drafting and negotiation of legal terms for a variety of production and licensing agreements for documentary and non-scripted reality television programming for WBD's cable television networks, including HGTV, Food Network, TLC, and Discovery Channel.
- Draft agreements for on-camera talent such as hosts, experts, narrators, families, and celebrities.
- Negotiate contracts for digital, branded entertainment, and podcast content.
- Review title clearance submissions for program titles.
- Draft and negotiate ancillary production-related documents, including access agreements, format licenses, participant releases, and consultant agreements.
- Research rights inquiries and provide information as needed.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of four years of experience in the business affairs or legal department of an entertainment company or within the entertainment/media practice of a law firm.
- Experience with drafting production-related agreements and handling production legal work.
- Undergraduate degree required.
- JD degree from an accredited law school required.
- Admission to State Bar in good standing.
- Active member to United States Bar in good standing.

Skills and Abilities:

- Strong knowledge of transactional work related to television programming and talent agreements.
- Familiarity with defamation, privacy, and copyright laws.
- Excellent writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative and business-friendly approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
- Strong relationships with entertainment attorneys, talent agents, talent managers, and talent publicists.
- Knowledge of union and guild issues preferred.
- Industrious and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships.
- Strong business and legal judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software applications.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States.

Compensation:

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. The salary for this position ranges from $126,350 to $234,650 per year. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, Warner Bros. Discovery offers a variety of benefits to its employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, and paid holidays, sick time, and vacation.
