The candidate will assist in preparing legal documents, attending hearings and trials, providing legal counsel to clients, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Duties:

  • Support the Litigation department, focusing on personal injury and professional liability defense.
  • Prepare various legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Attend depositions, motion hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients and insurer clients under the guidance of partners.
  • Travel as required for depositions, trials, site inspections, and meetings.
  • Keep supervising attorney informed of case developments.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, attorneys, clients, and adjusters.

 

Requirements:

  • Maintain active admission to practice in Oregon; a Washington license is a plus.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Utilize strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Manage time effectively and maintain strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and billing tasks for insurance clients is advantageous.
