A law firm in Boston is seeking a highly qualified Patent Prosecution - Technical Advisor or Patent Agent specializing in Biotech. The ideal candidate will have a . in the biological sciences and will be responsible for various patent-related activities, including prosecution, analysis, and portfolio management.

 

Duties:

  • Perform patent-related tasks primarily in patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis, and due diligence.
  • Collaborate with clients to secure patent protection and develop IP portfolios in cutting-edge biotechnology.
  • Manage patent portfolios and coordinate prosecution with foreign associates across different jurisdictions.
  • Draft office action responses and prosecute patent applications.
  • Work closely with scientists and inventors to draft patent applications.
  • Evaluate scientific literature, patents, and patent application documents in various fields of biology.
  • Conduct patent-landscape and freedom-to-operate searches and contribute to analysis.
  • Collaborate with investors to conduct IP diligence for potential investments.
  • Assist in IP diligence processes for biotech initial public offerings and other capital markets transactions.

 

Requirements:

  • . degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
  • Preferably, experience in patent prosecution.
  • Proficiency in drafting patent applications from invention disclosure forms or inventor interviews.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.

 

Education and Certifications:
