Job Title: Trial Attorney - South Florida Location: South Florida (Remote) Company: Farmers Department: Legal Salary: Competitive salary based on experience and location, with annual bonus potential up to 15% of salary. Job Summary: As a Trial Attorney at Farmers, you will be responsible for providing competent, ethical, and diligent representation to clients in all assigned cases. This virtual position primarily handles cases throughout South Florida, with in-person appearances as needed. Key Responsibilities: - Handle cases of moderate to severe complexity and exposure, including preparation of legal documents, attendance at hearings and trials, and any other tasks necessary for proper representation of clients. - May assist other attorneys in their assigned cases. - Functionally supervise attorneys who are assisting with assigned cases. - Consult with and provide opinions to the Claims Department on insurance policy and personal injury claim matters. - Keep supervisor informed of work being done and any issues encountered. - Maintain and update computerized litigation support systems. - Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Bachelor's degree required. - Law school degree and member in good standing of the State Bar in the state of Florida. - Minimum of 3 years experience as an Attorney, including civil jury trial experience, or equivalent dispositive ADR experience. - Ability to handle cases of moderate to great exposure and complexity with minimal supervision. - Public speaking and driving skills.
