A law firm based in Madison is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with 4+ years of litigation experience, preferably in employment law. The ideal candidate will defend and litigate lawsuits involving a wide range of employment-related claims and provide legal advice to employers on labor and employment laws. The Employment Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for defending and litigating lawsuits related to employment claims, representing employers in various legal proceedings, and providing legal counsel on labor and employment matters.

 

Duties:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving employment-related claims such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, and non-compete agreements.
  • Represent employers in court, administrative agencies, mediations, and arbitrations in employment matters, including class/collective actions.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to employers on labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on current court procedures and employment-related agency procedures at both state and federal levels.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on labor and employment issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Manage cases efficiently and effectively, including organizing case files and managing deadlines.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Active admission to the Wisconsin Bar or ability to obtain admission quickly.
  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, with a background in employment law strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
