Job Description:
- Seeking a staff attorney for our Hampton, Virginia office location
- Will be serving the Peninsula area
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19

Requirements:
- Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing
- Eligible to waive in as a Virginia Legal Aid Counsel by having at least two years’ experience in good standing in another state bar
- Or sitting for the July 2024 Virginia bar exam
- If practicing for less than 5 years, must include law school transcript

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal representation to low-income clients in civil legal matters
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff members to provide comprehensive legal services
- Advocate for clients in court hearings and administrative proceedings
- Participate in community outreach and education efforts

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree
- Admitted to the Virginia State Bar
- Experience in poverty law or related field preferred
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for social justice and serving underprivileged communities
