Position Title: State Income and Franchise Tax Manager - Multistate Tax Job Type: Full-time Salary: $95,900 to $203,060 per year Position Description: The State Income and Franchise Tax Manager will be responsible for providing tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. This role requires 5+ years of experience in state income and franchise tax, a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and one of the following accreditations: CPA, licensed attorney, or Enrolled Agent. The ideal candidate will also have an advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM, previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience, and strong management experience. This position requires the ability to travel 10% of the time and work within a hybrid work model that includes both in-person and remote work. The salary range for this role is $95,900 to $203,060 per year, and the position will be open until May 31, 2025. Key Responsibilities: - Provide tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. - Advise clients on a variety of state tax issues, including multistate tax planning, accounting for income taxes, restructuring, audit defense, and due diligence. - Oversee complex state tax compliance and consulting projects for different entities and their affiliates. - Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues and implications, such as apportionment methodology, unitary filings, and nexus considerations. - Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing. - Provide leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team. Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in state income and franchise tax. - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. - CPA, licensed attorney, or Enrolled Agent accreditation. - Ability to travel 10% of the time. - Advanced degree in tax, JD, and/or LLM preferred. - Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience preferred. - Strong research and writing skills. - Excellent presentation and communication skills. - Understanding and experience with state tax compliance, planning, analysis, and research. - Strong management experience. - Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model.
