Key Responsibilities:

As a Staff Attorney at Meritus Health, you will have a range of responsibilities, including:

- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address legal issues and implement solutions
- Conducting legal research and analysis on various issues affecting the hospital, including changes in healthcare laws, emerging legal trends, and best practices in healthcare law
- Handling legal matters related to Meritus real estate, including property acquisitions, leasing, and lease compliance
- Supporting the hospital's acquisition efforts, including due diligence, transaction structuring, and negotiation
- Preparing and submitting regulatory filings and reports as required by law
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of vendor contracts for the hospital and the new medical school, ensuring compliance and alignment with hospital and medical school objectives
- Assisting in the management and oversight of outside legal counsel, and staying updated on relevant legal developments affecting the healthcare industry
- Providing legal counsel on employment law matters, including but not limited to, employee relations, policies, and compliance with federal and state employment laws

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you should have the following qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school in the United States
- 2-3 years of experience in contract law, preferably in the healthcare sector
- Attorney license in a state in the United States
- Knowledge of Lexis/Nexis or Westlaw and contract management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong research, organizational, and analysis abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
