A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Investment Funds Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience to join its team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in investments in, or the formation of, domestic and international private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds. Experience with secondary transactions, structuring separately managed accounts, and structuring carry vehicles is also highly desirable.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support on investment fund matters, including formation, structuring, and transactions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to investment fund regulations, compliance, and transactions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including offering memoranda, partnership agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate with clients, lawyers, and business professionals to develop and implement fund strategies.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, colleagues, and third parties.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Illinois.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in investment funds, preferably in a direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm or SEC environment.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrated business judgment and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in Illinois.

 

Skills:

  • Extensive experience with investments in, or the formation of, domestic and international private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds.
  • Familiarity with secondary transactions, separately managed accounts structuring, and carry vehicles.
