A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a Technology Specialist to provide technical expertise and support in patent-related matters. The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field and will assist the firm in patentability analyses, post-grant activities, and patent prosecution.

Duties:

  • Perform patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and/or non-infringement analyses, including claim chart construction as applicable.
  • Draft post-grant documents (., petitions, replies) outlining technical arguments.
  • Advise post-grant and patent litigation teams based on your technical and scientific areas of expertise.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications for innovative clients.

Requirements:

  • An advanced degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 0-3 years of post-grant and/or patent prosecution experience preferred.
  • Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the . Patent & Trademark Office (preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong technical and scientific knowledge in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Analytical and research skills for patent analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to construct claim charts.
  • Legal knowledge and understanding of patent law (preferred).
