Privacy Cybersecurity Attorney

Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is looking for a Mid to Senior-Level Associate or Senior Counsel with at least five years' experience in Privacy and Cybersecurity to join our Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group. Our offices are located in Wisconsin, Illinois, Utah, Colorado, Texas, North Carolina, and Washington . and the attorney can be located in any of our offices.

## Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

- Data breach prevention and risk-mitigation counseling, including tabletop design and delivery
- Data breach investigation and response counseling
- In-depth knowledge regulatory framework for key international, federal and state privacy laws
- Implementation of key components of privacy and security compliance programs
- Negotiation of complex information technology, licensing and outsourcing contacts
- Advising clients in all industries on a wide variety of privacy and data security matters
- Advising on data governance strategies
- Addressing privacy and cybersecurity due diligence issues in M&A transactions
- Drafting company terms of service and website privacy policies
- Reviewing, updating or drafting security policies

## Job Requirements

In order to be considered for this position, applicants must have:

- . from an ABA accredited law school
- Excellent academic credentials
- At least 5 years' experience handling privacy and cybersecurity issues
- Privacy professional certification preferred but not required
- Valid authorization to work in the .

The starting salary for associate positions in our Denver office is $190,000.
