A law firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney for its Fort Lauderdale, FL location. This position entails the following responsibilities and requirements:

Job Overview:

The Insurance Defense Attorney will primarily focus on construction defect, general liability, or personal injury protection cases. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in handling civil cases through trial, negotiation, and client communication. Prior insurance defense experience is preferred, and the candidate must be motivated to excel individually and as part of a legal team.

Duties:

• Handle construction defect, general liability, or personal injury protection cases from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and insurance carriers.
• Communicate case updates and strategies to clients.

Requirements:

• 5-12 years of experience practicing law, focusing on insurance defense.
• Proficiency in civil litigation procedures, including trial experience.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Currently licensed to practice law in Florida; additional licensure in other States is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida State Bar; additional admissions to other State Bars are advantageous.

Skills:
