Job Overview:

The Criminal Defense Attorney will manage all stages of criminal defense proceedings, handle discovery matters, conduct motions practice, attend depositions, and represent clients in court for pre-trials, motion hearings, and trials. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a prosecutor or public defender and a strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure.

Duties:

  • Manage every stage of the criminal defense proceedings
  • Handle discovery matters and conduct motions practice
  • Prepare for and attend depositions
  • Attend court for pre-trials, motion hearings, and trials
  • Develop case-specific legal strategies to advocate for clients
  • Effectively communicate and work closely with clients
  • Manage a full caseload

Requirements:

  • The former prosecutor or public defender preferred
  • 3+ years of experience handling general criminal defense cases
  • A Florida Bar license is required
  • Strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure
  • Criminal trial experience

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school
  • Florida Bar license
