## Legal Internship Opportunities The Wisconsin Court System offers first and second-year law students the opportunity to gain valuable experience by participating in unpaid internships with Circuit Court judges over the summer. Participating in a legal internship with the Wisconsin Court System has many benefits, including: - Solid practical experience in the legal field - An opportunity to spend the summer in Wisconsin, with its wonderful weather and recreational activities - The potential to earn academic credits at law school The deadline to apply for the 2024 Volunteer Summer Law Student Internship Program is January 31, 2024. ### Application Details Applicants should submit the following information: - Name - Law School - Current Address - Telephone - Email Address - Permanent Address - Dates Available for Internship - Location Desired (see attached map) - First, Second, and Third Choice County - Preferred Court Assignment - Interests in Civil, Criminal, or Juvenile Law Applications and a copy of the applicant's resume should be emailed to by January 31, 2024. ### Compensation Unfortunately, the Wisconsin Court System does not offer any sort of compensation to interns. Interns cannot be reimbursed for any expenses incurred while participating in the program. ### Benefits While interns are not paid for their work, they will gain valuable experience in the legal field. This experience will be beneficial when applying to law school, internships, or jobs in the future. Additionally, interns will enjoy the opportunity to spend the summer in Wisconsin, with its wonderful weather and recreational activities. Finally, students are encouraged to check with their law school to see if credits are available for completing these internships.
