As the In-house Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business development and corporate teams by reviewing contracts and negotiating deals. Your responsibilities will also include providing legal advice and guidance to the growing business. Responsibilities:

- Review contracts and participate in negotiations for deals
- Serve as the lead legal advisor for significant transactions
- Independently draft and negotiate complex energy transactions
- Advise on a range of legal issues, including credit support and regulatory matters
- Coordinate legal matters for structured origination and business development activities
- Provide legal support for other matters as needed
- Anticipate and address legal and regulatory risks
- Manage compliance policies and reporting
- Support board meetings and decisions

Requirements & Qualifications:

- Undergraduate and Juris Doctorate degrees with strong academic credentials
- Licensed in New York, also licensed in Texas preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of transactional experience at a prestigious law firm or in-house
- Experience with wholesale power and gas contracts and structured energy transactions
- Familiarity with federal and regional rules and regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead negotiations
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities
- Highly motivated, self-sufficient, and enthusiastic
