A law firm based in Knoxville is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney or Of Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building the existing tax practice, with significant client interaction and the opportunity to transition into a leadership position in the long term. Ideal applicants will possess strong academic credentials, exceptional writing, and analytical abilities, and hold a Juris Doctorate or higher degree in Law. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in estate planning.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in matters related to tax planning, estate planning, and wealth management.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client cases and advise on complex tax issues.
  • Draft legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning instruments.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to develop comprehensive tax strategies for clients.
  • Handle negotiations, settlements, and litigation proceedings related to tax disputes and estate matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide informed guidance to clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate or higher degree in Law from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to the State Bar and in good standing with relevant jurisdictions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing in the field of estate planning, tax law, or related areas.
  • Proven track record of success in handling complex tax matters and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
