A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney for their White Plains, NY, office. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Job Overview: As a Family Law Attorney, you will provide legal counsel, representation, and guidance to clients in family law matters. You will be key in building and maintaining client relationships while advocating for their best interests in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings.

Duties:

  • Meet and ideally exceed the average monthly billable hour requirement of 140 hours.
  • Build the firm's client base through effective communication and relationship-building.
  • Conduct client case assessments to determine legal strategies and potential outcomes.
  • Provide legal analysis and opinions on family law matters.
  • Offer legal counsel to clients, providing guidance and advice on legal matters.
  • Draft legal documents and supervise paralegal staff in drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, parenting plans, child support worksheets, settlement agreements, and proposed orders.
  • Represent clients and advocate in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings.
  • Learn and adhere to firm policies and procedures regarding client engagement, case management, productivity, and accountability.
  • Complete all administrative tasks associated with legal practice efficiently and accurately.
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment for all team members by collaborating effectively and maintaining open communication.

Requirements:

  • 4 years of experience in family law litigation.
  • Proven success in attracting and building positive rapport with family law clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
