Job Title: State Tax Editor/Author
Experience: 3+ years of practical experience in state and local tax issues
Salary: Base compensation range of $74,200 - $137,800 in CA, CO, CT, IL, NV, TX, WA or remote locations, and $70,500 - $130,900 in KS, MI, MN, NY, VA
Location: Dallas, TX; Ann Arbor, MI; Minneapolis, MN or remote

Role Summary:
- Use expertise in state tax and writing skills to create valuable tax research content for the Thomson Reuters Checkpoint tax research platform
- Provide standard state tax know-how resources to support the development and maintenance of information in all media
- Analyze new state and local tax legislation, agency regulations, judicial decisions, and other official materials to create original know-how content and update state and local tax resources
- Write and edit content for thought leadership and answer customer inquiries on state tax issues
- Provide expertise and insight in training AI to understand complex areas of tax and accounting specialties

Responsibilities:
- Independently analyze state and local tax developments and create original content
- Write and edit content about state tax issues with limited guidance
- Report state tax developments on daily deadlines
- Answer customer inquiries on state tax content and practice
- Provide expertise in training AI and contribute to thought leadership content

Qualifications:
- 3+ years of practical experience in state and local tax issues, preferably in a law firm or accounting firm
- Experience and knowledge in state tax to provide editorial insight and practical guidance
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to write clearly and accurately about tax and related topics

- Enthusiastic about state tax and working as part of a team to provide premium content to subscribers
