A law firm is seeking an Employment Law Attorney for their Garden City, NY office. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of federal litigation experience in employment law, civil rights law, police brutality law, or municipal liability law. The Employment Law Attorney will manage a robust caseload of employment discrimination cases, conduct legal research and analysis, draft legal documents, and represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings. Effective communication with potential clients, exceptional legal writing and research skills, and a collaborative approach to working within a team are essential for success in this role.
Duties:
- Communicate effectively with potential clients during the intake process to recognize potential cases.
- Manage a robust caseload of employment discrimination cases, focusing on single plaintiff sexual harassment, race, gender, age, pregnancy, and disability discrimination claims.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and identify key legal arguments.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, discovery demands/responses, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and client consultations to gather evidence and build strong cases.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process, keeping them informed about case progress and potential outcomes.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to leverage collective expertise and resources.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of federal litigation experience in employment law, civil rights law, police brutality law, or municipal liability law.
- Admitted to the New York Bar.
- Education and Certifications:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to the New York Bar.
