# International Tax Manager - Chinese Business Services

## Job Summary

Company is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their Tax Team and work with their medium to large US and Chinese based clients in various industries. This individual must have a high level of technical proficiency to review and develop less experienced staff in the areas of client engagement management and applied technical knowledge in individual, partnership, corporate, federal, state, and local tax returns. They must be able to determine appropriate tax objectives, scope and methodology and actively participate in decision making with client’s management. They must be able to leverage available technology and other resources to maximize technical application to the project, and hold the engagement team to the same standard. The successful candidate must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to use tax software and other technology tools to solve client problems.

## Job Responsibilities

- Review and develop less experienced staff in the areas of client engagement management and applied technical knowledge in individual, partnership, corporate, federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Determine appropriate tax objectives, scope, and methodology and actively participate in decision making with client’s management.
- Leverage available technology and other resources to maximize technical application to the project, and hold the engagement team to the same standard.
- Serve as the primary engagement manager with economic responsibilities for billing, realization, and collections.
- Develop and execute a practice development plan which includes networking, new client development, and client expansion activities.
- Stay abreast on the latest developments in tax trends and legislation, along with any Firm standards and policies.
- Chinese business tax liaison between the various areas of the firm serving Chinese Companies.

## Qualifications

- 5+ years of recent, related tax experience in public accounting; specializing with clients in various industries.
- Prior experience working preferable with Inbound Chinese companies, multi-state, and middle-market clients.
- Demonstrated experience in engagement management, . project planning, managing and developing staff, technical tax execution, review, and billing.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA required or Bar License required.
- Chinese (preferably Mandarin) and English fluency - verbal and written.
- Ability to periodically travel to China.
- Position may be filled as a Manager or Sr. Manager based on applicable experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use tax software and other technology tools to solve client problems.
