Job Details:

  • Provide counsel on regulatory and cybersecurity breaches, particularly within the financial services, media, and healthcare sectors, and in connection with the Firm’s Artificial Intelligence & Data Practice.
  • Draft data collection, use, transfer, and sharing practices and agreements in regulatory and non-regulatory environments.
  • Develop and update client-facing privacy notices and consent documentation.
  • Formulate corporate policies and procedures for privacy, data, and information security.
  • Advise on company internal and external audits and assessments related to privacy and data protection.
  • Address and respond to data security issues and breaches promptly and effectively.
  • Experience with Generative and Non-Generative AI technologies is beneficial.
  • A portable business is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a privacy and data protection attorney.
  • Strong background in data security, cybersecurity, and related technology.
  • Familiarity with Generative and Non-Generative AI technologies is advantageous.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the state of New York.

Skills:

  • Excellent understanding of privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills for data-related agreements.
  • Ability to develop and update privacy notices and consent documentation.
  • Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures related to privacy, data, and information security.
  • Experience advising on audits, assessments, and addressing data security issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Portable business skills are a plus.
