Lateral Assistant District Attorney - Appeals

The Kings County District Attorney's Office is looking for qualified attorneys to take on the role of Assistant District Attorney in the Appeals Bureau. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on briefs and oral arguments for appeals to the Appellate Division, Appellate Term, and New York Court of Appeals, as well as answering motions to vacate convictions in the Supreme Court and Criminal Court and responding to habeas corpus petitions in federal district court.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

- Attorney admitted to practice in New York
- Appellate or other writing experience, preferably in criminal law

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Organization Overview:

The Kings County District Attorney's Office is the chief law enforcement agency for the City of Kings County. The District Attorney's Office is responsible for the prosecution of all criminal cases in Kings County, including felonies, misdemeanors, violations, and violations of the New York City Administrative Code.
