A law firm is currently seeking a Litigation Attorney with a focus on workers' compensation defense to join their team in Rockford, IL. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for representing employers and insurance companies in workers' compensation defense cases. The ideal candidate should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and hold an active State of Illinois Law license in good standing. The candidate should have 3-7 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.

 

Duties:

  • Defend employers and insurance companies in workers' compensation cases.
  • Conduct detailed legal research to understand workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements, for workers' compensation defense cases.
  • Collaborate with clients, medical professionals, and expert witnesses to gather evidence and build strong defense strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in hearings and trials.
  • Stay abreast of changes in workers' compensation laws and provide legal advice to clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
