The ideal candidate will be well-versed in real estate law, particularly with a focus on commercial real estate transactions. Notably, candidates who can bring a minimum of 10 portable closings per month are highly regarded. Additionally, expertise in titles and real estate closings is a significant advantage, and prior experience working with commercial real estate clients is considered a plus.
The core responsibilities of this role encompass a wide range of legal tasks. This includes conducting meticulous legal research, thorough due diligence, and detailed title examinations for commercial real estate transactions. The attorney will be expected to draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, purchase agreements, and leases, ensuring the interests of the clients are well-protected. Representing clients in commercial real estate closings is a critical aspect of the role, requiring precision and adherence to all legal requirements. Moreover, the attorney will be responsible for offering legal counsel on various matters related to commercial real estate, such as zoning, land use, and environmental issues. Effective communication and collaboration with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders in real estate transactions are pivotal to ensuring smooth and successful closings. Post-closing responsibilities, such as document recording and resolving any issues arising after the closing, will also fall under the purview of this role.
The firm requires candidates to hold a Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school, possess an active license to practice law in Massachusetts, and have at least 3 years of experience in the legal field, with a primary focus on commercial real estate law. An exceptional track record in conducting title examinations and successfully closing commercial real estate transactions is highly sought after. Additionally, the attorney should have a strong command of Massachusetts real estate regulations, zoning laws, and land use policies. Exceptional communication, negotiation skills, and meticulous attention to detail are essential attributes for this role. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team is crucial, given the multifaceted nature of commercial real estate transactions.
In terms of certifications, active membership in the Massachusetts State Bar Association or an equivalent bar association is a prerequisite. The desired candidate should be proficient in legal research and analysis, possess expertise in contract drafting and negotiation, and be familiar with real estate title software and databases. Strong interpersonal skills are paramount for building and nurturing client relationships, and effective time management skills are vital to handle multiple closings concurrently. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney looking to leverage their expertise and contribute significantly to the success of clients in their commercial real estate endeavors. If you meet the outlined qualifications and are eager to take on the challenges of this role, we encourage you to submit your application and become a valuable member of this esteemed law firm's team.
