The role involves representing a diverse clientele, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, in patent prosecution matters. The candidate will work closely with associates and partners, gaining extensive experience in patent strategy, drafting, prosecution, and diligence matters, with immediate client contact opportunities.

 

Duties:

  • Represent a variety of technology companies in patent prosecution matters.
  • Work one-on-one with associates and partners to develop patent strategies.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, or related fields.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Assist in due diligence investigations.
  • Prepare responses to office actions and communicate with patent examiners.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical expertise as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Master's degree (. or .) in a relevant field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3+ years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eligibility to take and pass the USPTO registration exam within one year of being hired.

 

Education:

Master's degree (. or .) in a relevant field, or equivalent industry experience.

 

Certifications:

USPTO registration preferred but not required.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in patent prosecution processes and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and execute patent strategies.
  • Strong technical background in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience with patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
