A law firm is seeking a DSSP Advisory Associate Attorney in Philadelphia, PA.

Job Overview:

The DSSP Advisory Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel on data strategy and privacy compliance matters. They will support the team in advising clients on privacy program development, legislative impacts, consumer disclosures, and risk assessment. Additionally, they will contribute to incident response and transactional diligence efforts.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice on data strategy and privacy compliance issues
  • Assist in advising clients on the development of enterprise privacy programs
  • Evaluate the operational impact of draft and enacted privacy legislation
  • Draft consumer disclosures and internal policy documents related to privacy and data use
  • Identify privacy and security risks in product design, operational use cases, and business partnerships
  • Support incident response efforts as needed
  • Contribute to transactional diligence activities

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of legal experience
  • Experience providing legal advice on privacy and/or data strategy issues
  • Familiarity with the California Consumer Privacy Act/California Privacy Rights Act and other US state privacy laws
  • Knowledge of international privacy and security laws such as COPPA, GDPR, BIPA, GLBA, and VPPA (a plus)
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to draft memos in business-friendly language
  • Prior technology experience preferred (., software development or employment at a tech company)
  • CIPP/US certification preferred
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • CIPP/US certification preferred
