Director, Privacy & Data Protection - BDO is seeking a Director to join their thriving Privacy & Data Protection (PDP) Practice as a subject matter expert and engagement leader. This role offers the opportunity to work with both domestic and international clients and professionals, and provides global solutions for clients' data protection and privacy needs. The Director will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, developing new opportunities, delivering quality work product, managing project teams, and ensuring projects are on-time and on-budget. This is a full-time position with opportunities for advancement and a focus on personal and professional development.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies to client C-suite/board
- Build cross-cultural functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs
- Develop and deliver privacy operations program plans for global corporate clients
- Manage team members and collaborate with other firms and offshore team members
- Provide detailed information to clients on various domestic and global privacy laws, including CCPA, CPRA, PIPL, GDPR, LGPD, and PIPEDA
- Guide and advise team members on project budget and scheduling
- Establish new relationships to drive opportunities for the company
- Comply with quality risk management, data protection, and other frameworks to ensure consistency in service delivery
- Manage and maintain relationships with client professionals and introduce other BDO professionals to expand on existing relationships
- Oversee day-to-day project requirements and on-site/remote team members
- Ensure timely and thoughtful responses to client inquiries and requests
- Build relationships with other BDO professionals and participate in industry events as a subject matter expert
- Ensure high-quality services for corporate clients
- Update customer relationship management systems for accurate pipeline reporting
- Review and provide feedback on executive reports for clients
- Develop proposals, respond to RFPs/RFIs, and manage Master Service Agreements and engagement letters according to BDO standards
- Use knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans, establish reporting and metrics, and provide regular updates to clients
- Participate in meetings and interviews with various departments and stakeholders as needed
- Proofread and edit executive reports before presenting to prospects and clients
- Manage client and partner expectations at all levels
- Mentor team members to ensure consistent quality of work and adherence to BDO standards
- Manage multiple large, complex, and potentially long-term engagements and clients
- Manage client expectations, including presenting to senior level executives in person
- Support the Data Protection Officer for clients as needed
- Develop and manage project budgets, review invoices, and ensure timely delivery
- Act as a leader and maintain a positive attitude towards clients and firm personnel
- Supervise workload of team members and review work product as needed

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required, Master's, Juris Doctorate, or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of consulting experience, with 3+ years in data protection or privacy
- Experience working with Fortune 500 clients preferred
- 5+ years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects required
- One or more privacy certifications (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE) required, OneTrust or TrustArc experience preferred
- Experience with privacy and GRC software, specifically OneTrust and BigID
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills required, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of database systems preferred
- Multilingual capabilities preferred
