Job Summary:
- Represent insureds and the company in defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits
- Conduct hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions
- Prepare and argue pre and post-trial motions
- Provide counsel to business clients and collaborate with legal teams
- Stay updated on new laws and regulations and advise on their impact on active cases
- Must be located in or near Houston for in-person appearances

Key Responsibilities:
- Review new file assignments and develop strategy
- Maintain contact with clients and claims
- Prepare witnesses and clients for legal proceedings
- Conduct depositions and examinations under oath
- Conduct court appearances and settlement proceedings
- Try and/or arbitrate cases and draft post-trial motions
- Provide legal opinions and manage cases

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This job does not have supervisory duties

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience:
- Juris Doctorate degree and member in good standing of Texas State Bar
- Experience in Insurance Defense, Subrogation, and/or Personal Injury litigation preferred
- Trial and/or Arbitration experience preferred
- SIU experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Lexis, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, and the internet
- Ability to work well with a team and handle an active and evolving caseload
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to travel for in-person appointments and lift up to 20 pounds

Compensation:
- $82,, per year based on experience and qualifications
