Meta is seeking a highly motivated Associate General Counsel to join their Central Security Legal Team. This role will be based in the United States and will have a global reach, supporting security, safety, integrity, product, regulatory, and privacy equities.

Responsibilities:

- Advise business and product partners on legal obligations globally relating to data disclosure and platform safety and integrity, including child safety and other serious crimes.
- Provide legal guidance on a wide range of product developments, including private messaging, e-commerce/payments, AR/VR, and business products.
- Manage legal requests for user data and handle litigation matters related to data preservation and disclosure.
- Develop and implement policies for processing legal requests and protecting user data.
- Strategically manage regulatory, criminal, and policy legal risks and disputes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Public Policy, Legal, Community Operations, Product, and Engineering, on safety and security matters.
- Foster relationships with government agencies and law enforcement in collaboration with internal teams.

Requirements:

- . degree and membership in at least one US state bar.
- 6+ years of legal experience, including litigation and regulatory issues.
- Familiarity with US laws, particularly the Stored Communications Act, Wiretap Act, and Pen Register/Trap and Trace Statute.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience advising technology or telecommunications companies on regulatory, safety, and security matters.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, such as the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and General Data Protection Regulation.
- Experience with Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty requests and international cooperation.
- Understanding of major EU laws regarding data disclosure and content moderation.
