The role involves defending and litigating lawsuits covering a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination. The attorney will also represent employers in court, administrative agencies, mediation, and employment-related arbitrations, including class/collective actions and cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete agreements. In addition to litigation, the attorney will provide advice and counsel to employers on a wide range of labor and employment laws and regulations.

Duties:

  • Defend and litigate a variety of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination.
  • Represent employers in various legal settings, including court, administrative agencies, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Handle a wide range of employment matters, including class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete cases.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to employers on labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Research, draft legal documents, and engage in oral advocacy.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • A minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for employment law background.
  • Active admission to the Texas Bar or the ability to obtain admission quickly.
  • Understanding of current court and employment-related agency (state and federal) procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
