**Position Overview**

As an Assistant Solicitor General, you will have the opportunity to represent Arkansas in appellate litigation and work alongside some of the brightest legal minds in the state and across the nation. You will be tasked with researching, drafting, and presenting persuasive appellate briefs and oral arguments. You will also collaborate with the Solicitor General and other Assistant Solicitors General to determine strategic approaches to cases and advise and consult with other Attorney General Office divisions on appellate issues.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Represent Arkansas in appellate courts, including the Arkansas Supreme Court, Federal Appellate Courts and potentially the . Supreme Court.
- Research, draft, and present persuasive appellate briefs and oral arguments.
- Collaborate with the Solicitor General and other Assistant Solicitors General to determine strategic approaches to cases.
- Advise and consult with other Attorney General Office divisions on appellate issues, including strategic and critical litigation at the trial level.
- Stay updated on significant legal developments and provide insight to the Solicitor General and Attorney General Tim Griffin on potential implications for the . and Arkansas.
- Participate in moot courts and provide feedback to colleagues preparing for oral arguments.

**Qualifications**

- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- License to practice law in Arkansas or ability to obtain a license quickly.
- Proven experience in appellate litigation; clerkship experience is a plus.
