A law firm in San Francisco is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in aerospace engineering and engine technology. The ideal candidate should be a registered patent agent with examining experience at the . PTO or patent drafting experience in a law firm setting. Holding undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science is essential. Previous experience as a patent examiner is strongly preferred, with industry experience considered a plus. The candidate must possess excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and sharp analytical ability.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patent drafting and prosecution for clients in the aerospace engineering and engine technology sectors.
  • Provide technical and legal advice on patent matters.
  • Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and stakeholders to understand and protect innovations.
  • Conduct patent searches and analysis to assess the patentability of inventions.
  • Prepare and file patent applications with the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Respond to office actions and other communications from the USPTO.
  • Stay informed about changes in patent laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and execution of patent strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • Background in aerospace engineering and engine technology.
  • Registered patent agent with examining experience at the . PTO or patent drafting experience in a law firm setting.
  • Undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
  • Strong preference for previous experience as a patent examiner.
