Organization: Division of Law (DOL) Job Title: Law Student Intern Experience: only Salary: Unpaid internship The Division of Law (DOL) within the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety offers law students the opportunity to gain practical experience through an unpaid internship program. This program is coordinated with the Division of Administration, Human Resource Management and is divided into 11 sections in Newark, 14 sections in Trenton, and 1 section in Voorhees. DOL interns are assigned to a specific section based on their interests, allowing them to specialize in areas such as education law, civil rights litigation, complex financial transactions, or child protection proceedings. They perform law clerk responsibilities, including research and writing, and also have the chance to observe various aspects of lawyering, such as court proceedings, client meetings, and depositions. Additionally, they can participate in training sessions offered to Deputy Attorneys General throughout the year. The DOL internship is available to law students during their summer break, fall semester, or spring semester. The application deadlines are March 15 for the summer program, July 15 for the fall semester, and November 15 for the spring semester. Interested applicants should submit their materials to Philip J.
