The ideal candidate should possess strong law school academic credentials and relevant, sophisticated law firm and transaction experience in fund finance and leverage finance/private credit.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and support in fund financings, acquisition financings, leveraged finance deals, bridge loans, and other complex lending transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and ancillary documentation.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and provide recommendations on complex legal issues related to lending transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients, partners, and other team members to develop and implement legal strategies.
  • Manage and oversee due diligence processes, including the review of financial statements and legal documentation.
  • Assist in the structuring and execution of financing transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of legal experience in secured and unsecured lending transactions.
  • Strong experience in fund finance and leverage finance/private credit.
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar (or eligibility for admission by motion).
  • Excellent communication and legal drafting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the Illinois Bar Association.

Certifications:
