- Responsible for providing legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or the Progressive Insurance Companies in all aspects of litigation

- Works closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation and negotiate settlements

Overview of the Position

- The role of an Insurance Defense Attorney - Bodily Injury is to provide legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or the Progressive Insurance Companies in all aspects of litigation, specifically in the motor vehicle insurance defense area.
- This is a remote position with occasional travel to an office for meetings and/or training.
- The attorney will handle cases from beginning to end, including preparing legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs.
- They will work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation and negotiate settlements.
- The attorney will also be responsible for analyzing written discovery, depositions, medical records, and assessing the value of claims to determine risk exposure.
- The position reports to the BI unit within the company.
- The attorney must have a Juris Doctorate (.) from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in Ohio.
- Must have at least 2 years of general/auto civil litigation experience.

Salary and Benefits

- The salary for the position of Insurance Defense Attorney - Bodily Injury ranges from $118,320 to $139,200 per year.
- The company also offers a gainshare bonus of up to 40% of eligible earnings based on company performance.
