A law firm in Louisville, KY, is seeking an experienced Energy/Environmental Associate Attorney with 2-7 years of substantive experience in energy, environmental, or administrative law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kentucky or federal administrative law and a genuine passion for energy and environmental law. An ideal candidate will also possess substantive experience with key agencies and the relevant statutes and regulations they implement. Additional experience in administrative law, land use law, or zoning is a valuable asset. Applicants must have a good academic record and outstanding research and writing skills.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel and representation in matters related to energy, environmental, and administrative law.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support clients' needs in these specialized areas.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients in administrative proceedings, hearings, and related matters.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and senior attorneys to develop effective legal strategies and solutions.
  • Stay updated on developments in energy and environmental laws, regulations, and policy changes.
  • Maintain well-organized case files and documentation for efficient case management.
  • Assist clients in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • 2-7 years of substantive experience in energy, environmental, or administrative law.
  • Extensive experience in Kentucky or federal administrative law is highly preferred.
  • Genuine passion for energy and environmental law.
  • Substantive experience with key agencies and the relevant statutes/regulations is a plus.
  • Additional experience in administrative law, land use law, or zoning is beneficial.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • State bar admission in Kentucky is mandatory.
