A law firm in Newark, New Jersey is seeking an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will focus on a variety of personal injury cases, such as auto accidents, motorcycle accidents, truck accidents, and slip-and-fall incidents. They will advocate for clients, handle complex cases from intake to resolution, and maintain a high level of thoroughness and diligence throughout the process. This role requires strong negotiation skills, trial experience, and proficiency in case management systems.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury cases, handling all aspects from intake to verdict or settlement.
  • Serve as an advocate and ambassador for applicants and claimants, working closely with paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs, provide advice, and keep them informed about case progress.
  • Develop strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively.
  • Review discovery documents and determine the best course of action for each client.
  • Take, review, and administer full depositions of case witnesses and experts.
  • Prepare all necessary documents for case filing, maintaining a caseload of approximately 150 cases.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants and paralegals to prepare comprehensive trial briefs.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences as required by case demands.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and handle property damage claims.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite and case management systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask and exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills, with bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
  • 5+ years of experience in plaintiff’s personal injury law.
  • Proficiency in negotiating settlements and resolving property damage claims.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite and case management systems.
  • Experience with trials and handling complex personal injury cases.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.
