A law firm is currently seeking a Trusts and Estates Attorney for their Cherry Hill, NJ office. The ideal candidate will have experience in sophisticated trust and estate planning, and estate administration, possess a tax background, and preferably have knowledge of elder law.

Job Overview:

The Trusts and Estates Attorney will be responsible for providing legal guidance and expertise in matters related to trust and estate planning, as well as overseeing estate administration. The role requires a strong tax background, and familiarity with elder law is a plus. The candidate must be barred in PA and/or NJ, and possessing an LLM in Taxation is considered an additional advantage.

Duties:

  • Conducting comprehensive reviews of clients' financial situations to develop and implement effective trust and estate plans.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents related to trusts, wills, and estates.
  • Advising clients on tax implications and strategies for minimizing tax liabilities in estate planning.
  • Representing clients in probate proceedings and estate administration matters.
  • Providing legal counsel on matters related to elder law, as applicable.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations affecting trusts and estates.

Requirements:

  • Barred in PA and/or NJ.
  • Proven experience in sophisticated trust and estate planning.
  • Strong background in estate administration.
  • Familiarity with elder law (preferred).
  • Excellent understanding of tax laws and implications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in PA and/or NJ.
  • LLM in Taxation (preferred).

Skills:

  • Legal research and analytical skills.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
